my whole taskbar diappeard today, some goofey program was suckin up my cpu for some reason, i ended up rebooting to straighten it out.

have u checked ur task manager to see what programs are using cpu when this happens? and othe than that i wouldnt know unless cpu is gettin hot or graphic card maybe heating, a far guess would be the monitor.

    besta luck:salute:

is graphics in your game working good? or in any other programs? or is it only in your desktop & taksbar, start menu???

I would think if its graphic card/cpu heating, it would show up in all points, (games & other progs) if everything else runs good i'd do a real good cleanup, and virus/malware scan might just help, sure couldnt hurt.

besta luck again, computers suk sometimes, for me it was just this moring, i couldnt get my sound card to quite screwin up , had to take it out & go back to my onboard, tried everything, i guess my card just was conflicting or something.

yepp, that probably it if everything else looks good, but maybe someone else has had this happen & will reply.

I dont know what u use, i used to use macafee & norton, all those, my computer run like krap, i knew i had to have malware somewehre, i downloaded the top ranked (kaspersky) i got it free for 30days, it immediatly took out 13 virus's that macafee couldnt pick up, and a ton of spyware krap.
I also found a neet little prog that might help, u dowload it, make a folder for it to unzip it into, go run it, (takes about 10secdons to scan) go onto the forum of the guys that made it & they helped me get about 40 piece's of junk outta mine too, just thought u might like to know if your interested i'll put links below

I had pixelated icons for a while. It was because i had messed around with the custom themes and size of Microsoft fonts for Windows.

Go back to your default theme if you have changed anything.

If for some reason the icons and taskbar disapear, you should press ctrl + alt + delete, and in processes find "explorer.exe". End it. Then click "File" -> " New Task" and type in "explorer.exe. This should restart the process and bring back your icons etc...

Its quite often a program and process has crashed and takes explorer.exe down with it. When using your computer, do you ever receive any kind of errors such as "DLL not found", "explorer.exe has generated errors..."? Not just those, but any kinds of errors?

Thats good info to have anyway, if a program was crashing or locking up seems like it would give a error message for him.

Right. Since it only started yesterday, can you do a system restore back to when it was last working properly. That way we can tell whether it is down to a new program or update you have installed.

Can you do the system restore? It doesn't delete or edit any of your files, but it undoes all changes to settings etc...
