kool, i still think im gona stick with the x1950pro, ive heard so much good stuff about it, although im kinda stuck now as ram is costin more than i expected so will the card be ok with just 1 gb of ram for a while and still play the games on the high settings

also how good is the PSU "Ezcool super silent 600w"

*pokes Sniper1432 that thread is also talking about the PCI-e version
my bad :p but I figured there wasn't a huge difference in the cards

well for PCI-e for a card that only costs about well £80 (makes me want to get a 2nd) / AGP i think £80/90 now, with 2gb ram you can easily play maxed out for agp you might be able to aswell but a little lower on the frames, was getting 120+ if i recall but its increased now after i tweaked a few things

kool, sounds very good , a dude did this for me

              -----------------------------
Ok, took a gig out and played a round. Still played settings maxed out, but there were some noticeably slowdowns. You certainly should be able to play on High with 1GB but with everything maxed out, you will have some serious stuttering. Still playable, but I got killed a few times because the graphics got choppy. So you can easily play high settings with above "playable" framerates.

              Hope this helps.

And just to say try to get another GB if you can. My system is noticeably slower with only 1.

              --------------------------------------------

so i found out that i could do with an extra gig but i also found out ddr is rather expensive so i think im gona stay with 1 gig and mess about with the settings. But even with 1 gig its still gotta be light years ahead of my 6600gt right

yeah but 1 gig of ram is cheap now a days, you got DDR400?

not the best but it will do :p

4x256? wow that sucks man, well if you take out 2X256 and put it 2x512 that will give you 1.5 gigs which can handle high pretty much it did for me :p

no but you have to play all medium with 1 gig, also when you quit 2142 and BF2 it will take a long *** time to come back to the desktop :/
