it depens what monitor you are running and at what resolution. if have a 19" monitor at 1024x768 you will get WAY better framerates than if you were running it on a 30" monitor at 2560x1600.

I'm unsure about the processor. I think that model is starting to get relatively old now, and it might struggle with the amount of physics it has to handle. Thats just a thought. Someone with more of an idea about AMD might want to clear that up.

If I were you I would up grade the CPU to a AMD Athlon64 x2 6000+ 3.0Ghz

Or, if you have a bit more to spend a Core 2 Duo. But that might mean buying a new motherboard as well.
