    Black Holes? Geometry messed up?

hey fellas, need a little help...

I just burnt up my last graphics card about 3 weeks ago while playing BF2. I'm sure that was due to not cleaning it proplerly so that the cooling system would work its magic. So I went out and bought a new Graphics Card (GeForce 7300 GT 512mb) Downloaded all the drivers, DirectX 9.0c End-User and the most current patch for BF2.

Though now I'm having an even worse problem then with a burnt up graphics card. Check out the screenshots I posted to see exactly what the game play looks like. I've tried all the different types of video settings from low to high with Anti-Aliasing 4x to Off. I've also tried changing the Graphics Card Setting through the control panel. Still no progress.

I though it might of been the new graphics card. So I went back to the store and exchanged it out for a GeForce 7600 GS 512mb. Updated everything and still it did the same thing. Then I thought it was the Latest Graphics Driver, so I rolled back the driver to the original cd install driver and it still did the same thing. I tried uninstalling BF2 and playing without the most current verson and it still didn't work. So through all of this... I'm thinking its the computer itself. Though I truely don't know.

If anyone has had this problem and/or has a solution would you please help!

    Comp Spec:
    Windows XP Home
    Intel Pentium 4 2.4ghz
2gb SDRAM (i think, could be DDR)
    GeForce 7600 GS 512mb

If you've tried different cards then I suggest it's a problem with either the mobo or the CPU.

on screen002 you have a perfect wallhack :)

7600GS should be plenty of card for mediumish, high geometry/view. turn the dynamics down to low and the lighting down to low for troubleshooting.

you've gone through three cards; when was the last time you manually purged your texture cache?

If you've changed your settings several times, I recommend you finalize your changes, close BF2, go to the above directory and delete everything under the \cache\ directory. The next time you start the game and play single or multiplayer, your shaders will be optimized again. Close BF2 one more time, defragment your hard drive, and now things should be much smoother and load much faster the next time you go to play BF2.

That helped quite a bit actually. Though... after playing for a little while it started doing it again but only to the northern end of the map.. the area that wasn't rendered to start with. so.. the southern end was perfect.. the northern side was terrible again... whats going on?

so wait with that purge thingy do you just delete all the folders in the cache folder?

yes indeedy. the program will load shaders textures and whatnot specific for your settings and for your hardware into that file. if it gets corrupted, then that corruption will persist from round to round, map to map.
