Hi all!
I have a question regarding which memory type to buy, and what defines the different types.
In the computer I am upgrading there is according to EVEREST a "DIMM1: Apacer Tech. (256 MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM)".
It says the speed is "166MHz (PC2700)". So far so good, now I thought I was going to buy a PC2700. But on every webshop I visit selling PC2700's (NewEgg, various swedish stores) is says the speed of a PC2700 is 333MHz.
On the tech-specs of my mobo it says this:
And the Celeron I have in that computer does not have a 533MHz Front Side Bus, right? I checked the EVEREST reports, and under "Motherboard" it says that the Front Side Bus's realtime clock is "100MHz (QDR)", and that the effective clock is "400MHz"
So basically DDR333 is not supported with my current processor. What memory should I get then? A PC2100, which is the next slower type (266MHz)?
To help you out, I've divided up my different questions.
As you see I am confused and I would very much like any help.
Thanks in advance,

On the tech-specs of my mobo it says this:
Two 184-pin DDR SDRAM DIMM sockets
Supports maximum of 2GB system memory using PC1600 (DDR200),
PC2100 (DDR266) or PC2700 (DDR333) DDR SDRAM DIMM
- DDR333 is supported only when using a 533MHz FSB processor

- Why is my PC2700 memory only 166MHz when PC2700 actually should be 333MHz?
- FSB means front side bus, right? Does it have anything to do with the CPU?
- Using these facts, can you determine what memory I need to buy? Should I provide the whole EVEREST report?
As you see I am confused and I would very much like any help.
Thanks in advance,
