    7600gt @ 1680x1050

So, after buying my 19 inch monitor, the next day the 20 inch version goes on sale

I'm thinking about returning my 19 inch, and getting the 20 inch, but I have a question.

How would my 7600gt handle playing bf2, and other games at 1680x1050 resolution? I'm thinking I would have to turn some things down, but how do you think it would run at mostly high/some medium settings, no AA or dynamic lighting/shadows?

I will eventually upgrade my video card though. Also, could I just turn the resolution down in game, or would that look bad then?

    Thanks..

    I just got a 20' WS & went from 1024 x 768 to 1600 x 1050 with no performace hit @ all & I have a x800 xt. You should have no problems M8 !

I ended up getting the monitor. I just turned off aa and turned dynamic shadows + light to medium, all the rest high, and it works great. Around 50-60 fps average.

Everytime I read a post by you, you bought a new monitor or are thinking of buying another one. I would not be surprised if you had a stash of fairly recent all great monitors in your basement full of dust because you can't find the return bill.

              haha, nah

I returned the 19 inch one, and bought the 20 inch version. I'm done now.

I actually ended up getting the 20 inch for 240. It was originally 280, on sale for 260, and then I had a coupon thing for 20 off, and got it for 240. That's only 10 more than the 19 inch, so I got a pretty good deal :)

Well according to your sig, you have a 7900, which I think is better than a 7600gt. That might be why

I play at 1600x1200 with 2xAA. It's fine. Turning off AA in Vista really liberates the FPS, but it's something I cannot live without.

If your monitor can handle it, go 2048x1536 with no AA.

As for framerates, it depends. You will get the same framerate (roughly) when you run 1600x1200@2xAA as when you run 1280x1024@4xAA.

It won't handle all high, especially dynamic lighting.
