    ram question

    k heres the deal, my mom has a C2D PC with 1 gig DDR2 667 mhz (2X512) I really want to use her PC for gaming as well so is it possible to mix DDR2 667 with DDR2 675 mhz? I want to make sure B4 i order some more ram

    usually yes, but it's not quite so simple. if the board is a p965 chipset, some of those boards are very finicky with their voltages. worst case would be to plop in some value ram that needs 2.1v to get to 66x mhz and your mobo will only provide 1.8 volts.

    if you match voltages, though, then the speed should adjust automatically to sync with the "slowest" pc5400 in the system.
