don't buy from a "computer store" if you know how to build, can manage the logistics of it, and it won't cause you troubles. if you've got a 500W pc and 7600gs, you can put together a very good pc for between $500 and $700 depending on whether you want the e6420 (mid-end C2D) or the e4400 (lowish end) and whether you want the cheapest ddr2 800 you can find or something that will overclock a little.
for the motherboard, a good budget board is either a 650i or (maybe) a p965.
^the place to start shopping.

1. Stop arguing. If you want to bicker like a bunch of flaming trolls please go somewhere else, and stop stinking up this thread.
2.The vista bashing will stop now. I understand quite a few people hate vista and everything it stands for. Stop bitching about it. Just say "I don't like vista, you should stick with xp," not more of this M$ SUCKS LOLOL bullshit. You don't like it, feel free to tell everyone, just stop the flaming.
From now on, whenever I see a post with M$ (or any variation) or me2 or whatever name anyone feels like calling it will get an automatic deletion, with no warning.
