Re: .BIN Filez
Not in this case :pOriginally posted by Scinto.bin is a image of a cd/dvd, you need cd/dvd burning software ie Nero or Roxio
It's a BIOS binary, you need a BIOS flashing program to load it up. You can do it either from Windows or DOS.
Download the BIOS flashing tool.Comment

Re: .BIN Filez
Asus has a utility on their install CD called EzFlash or some such horseshort. What I find works best is to d/l the file from their site, then run the EZflash and point it to my desktop where I d/l the bios. It can update via the internet, then flash the bios, but I find the d/l times are slower and it has a tendency to hang on me. Their flash utility is the best one I've ever used.
YMMV
my mobo = p5b-e
edit, but ^ yeah, you should d/l the latest version of ezflash, and then use that utility to flash the bios.Comment

Yes, but I'd go even farther and never let it get the update from the internet, and just download the file yourself first.Asus has a utility on their install CD called EzFlash or some such horseshort. 2) if answer to 1 is yes...sigh...whoo...t
3) if answer to 1 is yes, go into your bios and turn off onboard audio/ac'97/midi/whatever it has their for audio on your mobo
4) if answer to 1 is yes, they just took out the image (*picture) (edit, or turned off the boot sequence report options) from boot in your new bios, you can either enable it or upload one if you have similar options as i do with mine.
5) if answer to 1 is no...well, i'll just hope for the best.Comment
