DVD-RW Problem

My drive is :

Samsung Model: SH-W162C
I have latest firewire and stuff

It reads some dvds but takes time. It will not burn DVDs propley. E.g. burn like 4% or 10% depending. This happened before I storted it out by reinstalling OS, tried that but nothing? what is the problem

please help

you went through the time to re-install your OS just for a dvd-rw o.O

get a cd/dvd cleaner kit disc form see if that helps if not would be simpler to buy a new dvd-rw their only 15-20 quid

Yeah, tried cleaning . Am going to buy a new one since a they are cheap on ebuyers.com. Thanks anways.

I had this problem with only writing like 10-20% of a disc, and I turned down the writing speed one notch, and it works perfectly now. I'm not sure about the reading of DVD's though.
