    Geforce 7600gt

    Hello,

I was wondering how the "EVGA E-GEFORCE 7600GT PCI-E 256MB VGA DVI-I HDTV Out Video Card" would perform in Battlefield 2. Will it run at least medium settings?

How about other games? How would it run them?

I am getting it from here: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...A&promoid=1055

    Thanks.

whats the rest of your specs? if you have at least 2 gigs of ram that card could max out BF2 with a 1280X1024 res, but without your specs I wont know :p

      I have the following specs:

      MS Windows XP PRO
      Asus M2NPV-VM Motherboard
      AMD Athlon 3500 2.2 Ghz
      Mushkin EM2 PC2-5300 1GB 2X512MB DDR2-667
      80 GB Seagate HD

I don't really need to play the game on the highest settings, but at least medium. What do you think? :)

And thanks for your quick reply!

And I can currently run BF2 perfectly on low settings, just a bit choppy on medium.

youll be able to play on all high or medium high,on all high you will get the eye candy but less fps but on a mix of medium high it will be a lot smoother.

Wow.... I just called the local computer store (CBiT) and they were charging $159.99 for the same video card and I got this one for $132 with shipping and taxes included.

Hmmm, I'm assuming your from Canada like me because that showed up CDN dollars so...

You could have gotten it cheaper from Canadacomputers.com =/.

Although they didn't have an EVGA 7600, they did have a 7600 ASUS I noticed on the front page of vid cards... And other goodies... Wouldn't the 8500 be better? Its like 10 bucks more too, I must be missing something? Anywho, I think you already bought your card but just so you know in the future, Canadacomputers.com usually is the lowest you'll ever see things. Hell, I buy stuff cheaper than some americans do Lol.

You might want to consider saving for a new system a 2.2 ghz is not ideal for gaming, but if you do buy that card i would but and extra gb of ram with it so you can use it to its full.

8500 is slower than the 7600GT...

That like makes no sense to me... What is in the 8500 then that is different from the 7600?

                          Its just slower.

In fact, the 8500gt is beyond pure crap for gaming, a 6600gt would blow it outta the water.

Edit: This sums it up perfectly:

the 8500 has almost 1000 more gt's than the 7600, but gt's are marketing units, not engineering ones, lol.
