Will Battlefield 2 run on my computer?

I have just bought a new laptop, and i have attempted to install Battlefield 2, however, when i try to run the game, it begins to load and then disappears never to return again.

I have an Acer laptop with the following spec:

    Windows Vista Home Premium
    1.6GHz Dual Core Processer
    1 GB Ram
    Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
    120GB HDD

I didn't think there would be any problems with it as the computer seems clearly big enough to run the game. Any suggestions would prove very helpful

Would be why it won't run. Even if it would run you would be looking at all low/off at 800x600, if you're lucky.

        I've got a 12lb 386 "luggable". It won't run bf2 either.

For 3d games, you need a graphics processor capable of pushing pixels simulating 3 dimensions. Intel 950 won't cut it.

on the plus side, turn based strat games (Civ3/4, AoW series) would run very well. that's what i use my lappy (not the 386 for.

edit warcraft iii might even run decently. but not bf2.
