My friend just recently installed a new video card and PSU for me.But ever since then Ive been having problems rebooting up.I never had these problems before installing the new hardware.When i reboot I sometimes I get a sound from the case like it's trying to read something,then I get two short beep's.After getting that far,when booting up the mouse light doesnt come on and my monitor doesnt work,I get a black screen on my monitor and it doesnt load to windows.Sometimes I am able to get to the BIOS.Under that Item Specific Help it says "During the last boot up,your system hung up for an improper CPU speed.." and so on.My CPU setting's in the BIOS seem to look right.Anyone know what is causing the problems with booting up?Thanks.

make sure your friend didn't leave another friend (a dangling wire) in the path of your CPU fan, and that it spins up when you turn your pc on.Comment

Could you please host a picture of your BIOS referring to CPU speeds, voltages etc...
I saw this happen when someone accidentally increased their FSB frequency to some stupid rate thinking it was something else.Comment

Hey ...I have that board in another system. Yes, please post bios and maybe I can compare them. Also, in the manual for that board (available online if you don't still have it), there is a chart for what the beeps mean. Thing is that board also talks ...yes, it will tell you (in english) what is wrong with it. You should update the bios, and make sure that feature is turned on.Comment

Jeez, i dunno.....
Two things stand out, however they might be normal as i don't have a clue about netburst.
The Vcore seems pretty high @ 1.5V and that CPU multiplier is pretty high. Have you changed anything in the BIOS lately?Comment

20x133.3=2666, so multiplier and fsb are right (as long as your celery is really a 2.6ghz part, lol).Originally posted by alex98uk

Nah I set it back to default yesterday,and I put the a new CMOS battery in yesterday to see if it would fix the problem but no luck.The only thing I had to change was a option where it was set as my card is a PCI,I changed it to AGP,but I still have problems booting up.Comment

Ok,...one long beep and three short ones mean the video card is not detected or the memory is bad. I think that it has something to do with the install. Maybe the video card is not 'seated' right ?, or its power cable is not connected? If you installed a new PSU, there could have been a miscconection there as well. Thats where I would start, just go thru and make sure the install is correct. If I also remember right, if there is an issue with the Bios, it will highlite in red, so of course comb through that. That has been a solid board for me, and most likely it has to do with what was changed from the recent install.Comment
