Graphics card for my laptop

I have no clue what i need my wife had to get a laptop and now i dont no what i can add to it...... right now it has a ****ty ATI radeon xpress 200m and i dont even think that meets the min for the game so i need to buy one i am looking to speed $150-200 any help would be great!!!!!

Really? I thought you can send it in to the manufacturer to update it. How you do that I don't know but I was always thought you could do that.

Try calling the maker of your laptop, Thats the only way... I don't know if it will be in your price margins, laptops are always more expensive for less performace which sucks.

most laptops you cant upgrade the video on. Only certain ones with a dedicated pci-e slot you can, and then your only talking about very few.

You can't, they tried with "XMX" but it failed because only OEMS bought them and no retailer stocked them

@system: $200 for an average use compaq n610c on ebay. i really like mine--got a light aluminum frame, 2.0ghz, upgradeable to 1gb ram, 13" screen. It runs a smidge hot (pentium m), but it's great for taking on the road for school-related stuff and for playing some older games (civ iii, warcraft iii). I bounce back and forth between having linux on it and dropping an volume xp license on it for gaming. Need to work out the dual boot thing, but haven't yet.

nope it's not a 3d monster, but I'm also not out $2000 on a failure prone lappy.

tbh those looking for mobility & a desktop should really consider Shuttles, well assuming that where ever your going will have a spare monitor, latest Shuttle models can fit a single 8800 not to bad considering their size.

No you can't, their soldered on the mobo - the ONLY way you can do it is with the extenal PCI-e stuff (as of yet unreleased) and with an XMX laptop
