Another few quick Qs on my 8800

Sorry for another thread about my 8800, I should have mentioned them in there in the beginning but I wasn't think ahead. To add onto that, I just finished typing my questions and went on to post only to suddenly F*&^ing lag out with my piece of shlt satelite connection and lose the whole thing. So sorry in advance if I leave things blunt and confusing as I may still think I explained it..

    Ok so...

    A) I had my gtx card hooked up to a 50" lcd widescreen tv and my max res was 1024x768 or so... Anymore and I would be losing my desktop on the edges of the tv. Is this a vid card problem or tv?

    B) Do I need another gtx to run on a 50" +++ screen? Will it give me higher resolutions? (continued off of A)

    C) more so an outburst of anger, but I don't see a difference between a GTX/OC/Ultra/Superclocked blah blah blah 8800's other than a higher clocked core and what not. Physical appearance stays the same. My Q on this part is - are they locked clocks or is there some way for me to oc my gtx to an ultras clockings?

I am guessing it is a money scammer and they locked the clockings like they lock multipliers in cpus aisdes from the extremes. What I don't understand is why nvidia provides me a tool to clock my vid card when they lock the clocking anyways? This to me makes no sense and just makes me pissed off (another 500 bucks for the same card that someone played with in a factory that I could do myself prolly)

    D) If I should go into SLI mode for my widescreen TV, I do have option (b) left. That is, I bought EVGA and with that comes the step up program. If I upgrade to an ultra, would that be better and overall allowe me to play the game at higher res? Yes I kinda asked this twice in one thread... I know...

Just don't want to go into SLI and find out d@mn, I messed up with the GTX and should have went ultra. That or I just don't need it? hmmm... I really would have prefered my first version of this thread that got lost thanks to my ISP. grrrrrrrrr

Re: Another few quick Qs on my 8800

    A) This is because your taking the screen past its native resolution

B)No a second one is meant to increase graphics performance and thats all it does, Notice that work Meant people. And SLI supports 1 monitor.

C)Yeh use Rivatuner and OC the card to ultra speed as my card currently runs quicker than a ultra.

    D) Dont properly understand

Mate your GTX is still Fast just OC the card to Ultra speeds, you dont want a ultra its a waiste of money for something that you can practicly make yourself.

No this is an overscan issue if your using a HDTV . The 8800's don't support overscan . Install this patch and use the HDTV resize thing it will work now . Personally i use custom rez 1280x960@60 and dont use HDTV .

Alrite thanks. And again, sorry for the double post. While I was posting it for the 2nd time last night the site went down so I gave up. I reposted it again today (didn't see my previous post) and now it pops up.

So to OC my gtx I need rivatuner? Where can I find that>? Just google it?

and sin, when I used HDTV port the screen was all fuzzy. You couldnt read the txt unless you blew it up to like size 20, even then it was hard. Everything else looked like it was chinese. RGB (VGA port) was the one that did the job right and let me play bf2 but at a lower res.

        Anyways, thanks guys.

Just wondering, Where can I find my driver version anyways? is it under dxdiag? I'm looking at the latest driver and its 158.22 and I dont see a number like that in dxdiag
