    What do games require?

The only things you need to upgrade are:

    Motherboard
    CPU
    RAM
    Video Card
and once in a great while sound card.

Right? As in, you do not have to buy a whole new system, just those things above.

    Cheers

But apart from those, keep an eye on your PSU as well.

Make sure you don't skimp on a PSU, because they are the most important part of a system. For example, do not buy an 800W PSU off ebay for £20. Chances are it will either: electrocute you, fry your components, only provide 200W power, not work or sound like a lawnmower.

This has basically nothing to do with Battlefield, and I therefor suggest you post it in the appropriate forum section, the Tech Center.

Depending on what other parts you have I would suggest you go for GPU and RAM for a starter. If your CPU can't comply with that upgrade it.

I learned that the hard way. I bought a decent PSU, but at the time, I chose not to spend the extra $20 for the better known one. A year later, and I was having weird problems with the computer. LOOONNG story short, by PSU fu**ed up, the messed up my motherboard, video card, and monitor. I got a good one now and everything is fine.

I read the techie forums all the time. Pretty much the only reason i stay on TotalBF2. Helps me build up knowledge etc.. and teaches me to help others since when i graduate from uni i hope to become a systems analyst.
