Suddenly my mouse isn't working

Hey all, I have a perfectly normal functioning mouse, but for some reason, when I enter BF2 games, the moment I get to the screen where I select my kit and spawn point, both my mouse and keyboard suddenly stop working. They work fine at the "join game" screen, and if i minimize they both work fine again, but as soon as I maximize again they both stop functioning. Any idea what is causing this? they both worked fine yesterday.

Any help at all would be appreciated.

this is what you do, before you join a game go to your controls screen and hit the Default button, it will reset all your controls back to normal and they will work again happened to me in 2142 as well...

thanks man, worked like a charm. now if i can get rid of this nonsensical lag i can actually play. lol

hmmm start>run>dxdiag>and it will show you or you can click the easy info option in start>all programs>EA games>BF2>easy info

1gb ram
1.7ghz processor
200gb hd

yeah the video card :p but the proc is the bare minimum for the game, 2.0GHZ or greater is good...

not sure which one is the video card, i think its the one under display, in which case its an intel 128mb video card.

i used to play it about 6 months ago and i didn't get this kind of lag which is why im confused. just got back from my freshman year of college and suddenly i have this lag which i cant get used to. any suggestions on ways to get rid of it or do i just need a faster processor?

intel? wow i thought only ATI and Nvidia worked lol, you need to get a new video card if your laging on low, also try clearing your cache in My documents>BF2>mods>Cache and delete it also have you done a spyware scan or virus scan lately?, a defrag? do you know if you have an AGP GFX port?

ok deleted the cache, but my spyware and virus scan both expired while i was at college, any idea where i can dld good free ones?

oh also i got some of the info wrong

processor speed is 2199.9

and video card is NVIDIA GeForce 6800 (128mb)

not sure about that port thingy, how do i find that out?

when you delete the cache, do u just delete the folders in \My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache?

look for a slot like little PCI slots u cant miss them, there on the mobo
