Is my graphics card overheating?

Hi guys,
I recently formatted my computer and had to do all the reinstalling drivers etc thing again. Anyway after i installed the NVidia driver 94.21 on my 6600GT bf2 started to CTD randomly with distorted images. after reading up about my card I found out the 84.21 is very stable, so i uninstalled the 94.21 and put in the 84.21

My game is considerably more stable now, but i do get CTD's maybe once every 2 days, and short lag spikes during some games, where my screen goes black for about 0.5 seconds, then the game resumes.

I think its overheating, but i dont know anything about GFX cards. Anyway before my format i dont know what driver i had, but bf2 never had any problems.

also probably noteable 2142 doesnt have any of these problems

so yeah, thanks in advance for any advice :)

What about you actually check the temps?

Use Nvidia monitor available as part of Ntune, or simply use the Coolbits2 registry entry to unlock those features in Nvidia control panel.

even though u have nvidia, u can still use the ATI tool to monitor your temps and to scan for errors, have you tried the 93.17's? seems like a lot of ppl are having problems with those drivers IMO...

Likely overheating. Most likely, the reformat has nothing to do with it (other than having to pick the best drivers). Having the warmer temps upon us is the more liekly culprit.

Open your case, check for dust, and remove any (carefully) with a can of compressed air. Hold the fan blades (carefully) when you blow them so you don't damage the fan motors.
