well depends what you use youre pc for, what games you play ect.

    i have a amd 4200+ 939 overclocked to 2.6 with 2gb of genric ram and 7600gt gfx.

it will do me for now.

personaly im saving up my money for the new amd line of chip, with any luck it will be faster than the core 2 duo.

    AMD Phenom X2, X4, FX

    link

    looks promising at the moment.

so if youre pc can do until then i would wait.

^The HIS models are two-slotters, but you get a much quieter fan out of the deal.

looks like a great card and its only 226 dollars (i think)

and a reveiw in newegg said it was twice the performance of a 6800gt which is what i have

If your PSU is up to snuff, you could also consider the current "big daddy" of agp:

I've got the PCI-E version, and it just rocks for the price.

Word o' caution, however, your next system will definitely be PCI-E, so buy a high-end agp card only if you know you'll be satisfied with it for the next year and half or two. If you plan on moving to a PCI-E mobo (socket AM2 or LGA775) any time soon, then you might consider just starting to save now and toughing it out with the 6800gs--which is not a bad card at all.
