    Switch to Desktop problem...HELP!

Hi guys. Lately both BF2 and BF2142 have been switching to desktop when I am in the middle of a game. The game doesn't crash, it just switches. Slight problem in BF2, especially if you're flying, but bigger problem in BF2142 which, most of the time, will freeze when I try to switch back and I have to shut it down the hard way (Task Manager).

Now, I know there is a fix for the 2142 ALT+TAB issue but what I am actually looking for is for some advice on how to track whatever is doing the switching. How do I find the culprit so I can stop it in its tracks?

I did a couple of searches and didn't find a thread that dealt with this. If there is one and I missed it please just point me in the right direction.

    Thanks.

You're not accidently pushing the windows key are you?

Yeah, you're most likely accidentally pushing a button while playing. Happens to me sometimes also.

hmmmmm...good suggestion but I don't think so. If I were the Start menu would pop up, right?

          I'm not sure..

Why don't you try it and see if the same thing happens as you are describing?

Nope. Sometimes I'm not even pressing any keys and it still does it. Does anyone know of a way or of a tool to spot what is causing it? I'm guessing it would have to be something that logs the calls made by the different apps and services, some kind of programming tool to debug or something like that. Only thing is I am not a programmer so it would have to be the version for dummies.

            Thanks.

I made a program once (prolly a year ago) that logs the keys you press and puts it in a text file. I have to find it, but you could use it to find out what the last key was pressed when it messed up.

EDIT: I looked and I can't find it. It must be on one of my bad hard drives.
