problems with vista

this is the only problem i have with vista,i cant play bf2,do i need to reinstall it because i used the upgrade of vista not full reinstall.

no joy,full reinstall and still it goes black for 2 seconds then right back to desktop,core 2 e6300,7600 gt ,1 gb ram

You need another gig of ram and also did you right click on your bf2 short cut and tick run as administrator

At least another gig of ram, and the game still might run choppy with that. You may have to do a manual install ...search EA Support for those instructions. Be sure to also install all the patches AND be sure to install DirectX9. BF2 runs on that (not 10) ...this covers the normal probs.

BF2 runs fine on vista, without having to resort to trying to get DX9 installed,

When my vista updated after I had bf2 installed, it patched DX10 over it, and I had to re-install it.

When you install BF2 on Vista, at the end, it will ask if you want to install DirectX9, and the answer is YES. I posted that because the mistake has been made to assume since Vista comes with DirectX10, you don't need to install DirectX9. But you do.

And before anyone says it, the download contains updates for both DX9 and DX10.

i just downloaded the latest drivers from nvidia and it still doesnt work
