    Upgrading comp

Hi guys, i am going to upgrade my comp, so i want your opinion on whats the best thing to upgrade.

    Specs:
    AMD 3200+ 2,4GHZ
    7400 rpm harddrive
    Ati X850 256mb AGP8X
    Asrock K7VT4A+ (motherboard)
    350 watts PSU
and finally 2x512 mb kingston ram (only 2 slots in my comp so if ram is to be upgraded i have to replace one of em)

    Hope you can help me!

Maybe toss in another gig if you've got $50 hanging around. If it was me, I wouldn't put much more money into that system. Save up for a budget replacement.

        Ty for the replys!

Well my sys runs fine, no lag what so ever, everything is on low and off except textures and geometry, 100% distance scale, so u sure its not worth upgrading the ram? the GPU is fairly new only bout 1 year old i think, the mobo is quite old but dont mean that much right? and the processor is not extremely slow either.
So would you still reccomend me saving up for another sys?

Another gig would smooth things out. And you're system is a very decent one for playing BF2. I was playing on one very similar (x800xt + 1gb + 3.0ghz) and didn't have any problems, either.

If you get another gig, you can up most of the settings to medium. It might be even worth it to ebay your DDR (I got $40 for mine in March) and get a new 2gb set.

Beyond that, you could buy an x1950pro and a new psu to power it...but you're looking at pouring money into an aging system.

sorry, but the motherboard is everything. just upgrade the ram, and start saving your money. It won't be more than a matter of months, and that system will be near worthless. It will still be useful for email or just surfing the web, ...as far as the furture goes, that system will not carry you though. Also, when you do get to that point, and are ready to build a new system, ...start with a good motherboard.
