5.1 sound???

I just got a 5.1 surround sound headset speedlink medusa pro gamer, do i have to config anything to make 5.1 work with BF2 ive got a soundblaster 7.1 card. It works with CSS perfectly but when i change the sound of things like center speaker and rea speakers it does nothing on BF2??? Only the front speakers alter the sound....why? Can i change it so it utilises 5.1? It still sounds good but 5.1 sound would be better i think :p

In the Options menu I believe there is an option for 5.1. Correct me if im wrong (haven't been in the sound options in forever).

i dont think there is a "set to 5.1" setting and i think it should set automatically for bf2

Hmmm interesting it doesnt seem it has

So it seems i have to run the Hardware option in settings to use 5.1 but i cannot do this with the Soundblaster LS its seems as the voice over is shuttering when they say ENermy spotted etc. Any ideas on how to fix or any tips on what soundcard to get not TOO expensive!
