Bullets doing no damage.

For some strange reason, my bullets havn't been hitting.

1/4 times when i try to snipe someone in the head, their head just gives off a puff of smoke, instead of hitting.

This is also the same with the knife. I can never knife someone first time. It gives off a puff of smoke. It then takes 1 - 3 more stabs for the knife to actually hit.

What's more, i've just been playing d valley. When i was firing the igla on a landed enemy chopper, the chopper took zero damage.

I'm wondering if this is a problem with my game or my computer

what is your ping when this happen? what kind of connection do you have?

hhhmmmmm.....

AFAIK, the "poof" comes from your computer client not responding properly to the server client, due to packet loss. The client side says that it's shooting, however, the server side only registers certain bullets, etc. That happens to me sometimes too, but only when I am on high ping servers.

What are your computer's specs?

Dopped packets my man!!! You can still have a good ping and have packets dropped between you and the server!!! I hit a guy twice point blank in the head with M95 last night and got 2 puffs of smoke....and then the b@#$rd shot me!!! (my ping was 58)

He should have been toast at that range with either shot, but the same as you....communication error with the server and it registered as 2 misses....sigh!

Just the way BF2 is....win some.....lose a boat load more....lmao

that happens to me too, i have a nice headshot ready and boom!! nothing happens even though my ping is like 17 LOL

Yeah that's one difference I've noticed between sniper rifles in bf2 and 2142, in 2142 they almost NEVER miss. If your on target in bf2 they still miss half the time.

Erm, this has nothing, well hardly, anything to do with connection. It's a Battlefield 2 crappy hitbox registration thats gone wrong. It happens all the time. mostly with knife
