    Upgrade Memory

    System Specs:
    Amd Athlon 3800+
    1 gig of ram
    7600GT

I want to get 2 gigs of ram for my system and games, i want to know if i could max out my settings with 2 gigs of ram and a 7600GT

I have 2x 512 would it work with another 2 512's or will it cause problems, it was way cheap than getting 2 1 gig sticks, and im sorta broke right now.

What do you guys think? I want this to boost up my settings preferably texture and stuff.

2 gigabytes will make windoze faster, and it will make things smoother in BF2. 2x1 gb is best, but either adding 2x512 or just dropping in another 1x1gb would get you there. I'm assuming you've got ddr and not ddr2?

I would suggest selling your current 2x512MB stick and get 2x 1GB sticks.

The reason i say this is because, sometimes having a 1GB stick & 2x 512MB sticks causes unforseen circumstances with the operation of the pc.

AMD's do NOT like 4 sticks of RAM - don't do it, go for 2 x 1 GB

I think thats an understatement, using 4 sticks with my x2 4800+ dropped me down to 2t ddr 333. :dead:
