Ok here is the mobo I am going to order. ASUS P5W DH DELUXE/WIFI-AP (Link)

Here are the memory sets I have considered. What do you think is best for me? (links)

If there is a diferent mobo you would like to suggest go ahead, but this one saves me $100. I dont think I will move unless there is a big improvement in preformance.

I would for sure suggest this mobo ...for the same money:

Asus P5N32-E SLI 680i

It is the Striker Extreme board, without a couple frills, that are fairly worthless anyway. As far as performance goes, its is par with the Striker Extreme, because it is the same board ...check out this link:

lots of room for expansion, this board will take me into the future, I am sooo glad I bought this board. I also bought the Patriot ram ...its the 2x2gig (4gigs total) kit, and I am very happy with that as well. I have more than I need for now, and two empty slots when I need more. Nothing wrong with what you have chosen, just wanted to throw this out there to check out. Have fun with the build :-)

I would like to buy 2gig cards to prep for the future but 2gig cards at the speed i want are expensive.

EDIT: that mobo doesnt have the wireless conection like the P5W DH DELUXE does it?

I just found out that pc-8500 which will give me no gain over pc-6400 unless I am overclocking. Right?

A while ago I was considering that patriot set you said you had. Are you overclocking yours and how far up did you get yours?

Which is better? Or do these pretty much tie?

That Patriot ram is EPP ready, and the board I have comes with 'Extreme Tweaker' in the bios, all I did was to set the voltage to spec (2v) (if set to auto, it may be less than 2v), then, there is a setting for SLI Ready Memory. Simply go to it, select, 0% Overclock, save reboot and you will see the ram overclocked. SLI Ready Memory (also known as Enhanced Performance Profiles or EPP). This is a tool all the 680i boards share. In a nutshell, certain sets of ram have an extra chip that contains overclocking profiles based on factory testing of RAM with these boards. What this will allow you to do, is to auto overclock your ram without manually changing settings up to a factory recommended standard. You can squeeze more performance out of the ram by doing the settings manually. ...in a nutshell, thats all I did. Also, I overclocked the CPU (Intel E6700) from 2.67GHz to 3.01GHz with stock cooling. This board is made for overclocking ...I am no expert, and have no intention of going any further.

Cheaper than the rest, oc's better, and you can really tighten the timings if you don't oc.

I was recomended that set on another forum also.

Comparing either of these Dominator sets to that G.Skill set. Of the 3, which one is the best?

Also, I am curious about this set.

Its is only DDR 400, and PC 3200. These are ment to be really overclocked right? Explain these a little to me plz.

MatDef's suggestion is a good one; best for the price by far and the timings are nice.

running 5-5-5-15@ddr2 1066mhz (pc2 8500). They also work just fine 4-4-4-12 @800mhz (pc2 6400). I think I could push them farther, but my mobo won't support more than 2.1v.

Those ddr sticks you're "curious about" are good, expensive sticks of ram. Just don't try to plug it in your P5W.

Oh, explanation is that they're for older chipsets.
