Buying Computer Or Building...

Okay, well I am thinking of buying a computer or just building up of the one I currently have. I have a Sony Vaio :shakehead The only thing I improved in it was the Graphics Card. Do you guys think I can build up of the computer I have or start from scratch? This is a computer that was lying in my basement, and I finally decided to do something with it.

Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 1

Intel(R)
Pentum(R) 4 CPU 2.60GHz
2.59 GHz
512 MB of RAM
RADEON 9550

If you guys think it would be a good idea to build of off this computer, please show me some parts I would be able to improve and play games on HIGH without a problem. I am willing to spend about $1000.

Er, a newly built,self made computer would be a hell of a alot easier to work with then that mate.

I wouldn't really go with that list.

What parts will you be keeping from your current comp, this includes any parts inside(hard drive, CD/DVD drives, sound card, etc) and any peripherals (muse, keyboard, monitor, etc)

justbuild it urselfman..u can build a monster pc for 1000 plus dollars..dont buy prebuilt pc...its easy, so easy a caveman could do it!

I spec'd out the rig I just built ...to buy it already built, would be over $4000, I built it for $1500 ...the math is not too hard there.

Computer Build?

How Does This Look? This is my first attempt in building a computer. I want to run all games on high if possible. Please feel free to suggest. The ? are things that I don't know which would be good. Also, on the Thermaltake V1 are both of them the same thing?

I am willing to spend around $1,300. All I want is suggestions and the actual item from the site. I am willing to go no more then $1,400.
