Looking for a new PC

Pretty much what I'm looking for a is a PC ready to play BF2 on High settings, that I can finance ~$100 monthly, any recommendations?

I would highly reccomend to build your own computer (buying the parts and putting it together). You will save a lot of money that way and you will be able to get good quality parts.

yeah build one yourself, believe i was nervous too but hey i have an extra $300 in my pocket for later ..listen to Sir. S.A.S he motivated me to build my own and to think i almost bought a dell:wall:

1) Build it and

2) Don't finance it if at all possible and

3) If you do finance it, get a deal like six months same as cash (newegg has it I think) and pay it off before six months goes by or else

4) you're going to end up with an obsolete computer by the time you pay it off, and the interest payments on a signature-loan type of line of credit will cost you a new, nice graphics card.

Oh yeah. What's your budget?

Budget is $2k for now, I aswell figured i should just build one, but im a lazy one :laugh:

Current PC specs are pretty bad, but I can run the game decently with low/med settings with no problems, but i want *damn* good performance

current crap: Intel Celeron 2.66ghz - 1.2gb ram - 256MB nvidia fx 5500 - 80gb 7200 sata hd


should i just throw more upgrades in? if so can i get a list? or better idea to start from scratch, because this rig isnt much fun :p

that is a nice spec but the case i would get is
coolermaster stacker 380 i think it is silver now that is a nice case!

Just finished building my new rig ..still have some tweaking to do, but it was fun to fire up BF2. It was like playing for the first time ...only smooth and crisp.

Great choices Sniper, I got that BFG 8800GTS (saving up for a second one), op'd for the E6700, and being an Asus fan, got a P5N32-E SLI 680i. Also went with 4 gigs ram. BF2 is a whole new game. Can't blame my play on lag or crappy frames rates! :laugh:

Thats decent, but some things can be improved.

Gpu: good, but evga has a much better warranty, step up, and you can oc/use a better hs without voiding the warrant (can't with bfg).

psu: Antec's been having real qc issues lately, I wouldn't go near them. Get this corsair instead.

ram: Again, is ok. But if you're gonna oc (and with that proc/mobo, you better) I'd go with this ram:

I agree with the rest of those that are recommending to build. If you build yourself, you have infinite knowledge of your machine.

Also, you can start for less money and add on as time goes by. AND... you posted from a PC (presumably yours), so you have a few components (even if you're on a Pentium II) to salvage.
