Hey hey, I know what you mean. I was stuck in ddr1 for a while, but now Im finally making the change to ddr2. Good thing is my mobo is both ddr1 and 2. Pretty cool yea?
I put off upgrading for the longest time (well, two years = long time in silicon years) because of the pace at which things changed. Suddenly, NONE of my parts would transfer to a new build. Needed a new CPU, but needed a new MOBO with a new LGA 775 socket first, and of course the new MOBO needed new DDR2 to run, and it also needed a new gpu because my perfectly good x800xt AIW didn't fit into the PCI-E socket (no, I didn't try, I'm just saying...), and my perfectly 7200rpm hard drives had to go, 'cuz the new MOBO I picked only had one eide channel and I had two optical drives...
...and all I really wanted was a dual core processor and a little more RAM.
Thanks goodness for ebay and people looking for old parts.
