Overclock e6600 on a ASUS P5n-e SLi mainbaord help

HI all I am a total newbi to Overclocking however I have read and heard that my specs have Overclocking capability(see below). If this is true does anyone know a good site that can walk me through the process or point me in the right direction. I am searching for a really user friendly guide that is easy to follow, or a tutor lol.

I don't want to do anything extream just get a bit of a boost if possible. The other big question I have is; Is a stock cooler capable of sastaining a decent overclock that is stable?

Yes, the stock cooler will do fine a little over 3Ghz, probably 3.3 or so. With a good aftermarket cooler however, the 6600 would probably be able to go over 4Ghz. I'm running a E4300 on the same board at 3Ghz 24/7 with the stock cooler.

If you know how to get to the bios, overclocking that board is probably the easiest ever. Go to Jumper-free configuration, set the voltages to cpu:1.35v memory: 2.0v, leave NB on auto. Select unlinked memory bus, and set memory to 900 maybe? Whatever you want. More and you will need to adjust memory timings at some point. Then set fsb to 1333 and you should have 3ghz :)

Don't worry if you screw it up, just restart and it will be ok again. It is a very user friendly board, probably the best money can buy in terms of how easy overcklocking is. And remember to use and save overclocking profiles, they make life easier.

lol i wouldnt trust the stock cooler from intel. Its now the best paperweight ive ever got.

Buy one of these http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/105994 I use it and it keeps my cpu nice and cool. While its not OC yet i cans tay at about 30c even under load. Also use a program like speed fan to watch temps in windows.
