Hey, I have my desktop sharing my documents and my email over the network, but when I try to access the folder I keep all my d/l'd stuff in (5.5 gb), it freezes up the window of the computer im trying to access it from. Is there any way to fix this problem?

Re: Networking Problems
May take a second to large files may take a bit to read especially if your doing this through a router...

Re: Networking Problems
My computer that has the files is wireless g, 54 mbps. Im trying to access it from a computer wired into the router at 100 mbps.
Other semi-big files do take a second or two, but this folder just totally locks up the computer and I have to pretty much shut it down.

Re: Networking Problems
Virus scanner of some type on it? Sometimes folders with shortcuts that lead to nothing, will do that as well. I know Virus scanners are notorious for that, the ones with active protection that is. I had my computer do the same. I run one as a server and connect to it via wired router, and when I was moving files over to different folders it would just sit there, as if it were doing nothing. It took over 10 minutes to come back.

Re: Networking Problems
I had this prob to when i was trying to download large movies of my brothers computer. I am wired and he is wireless. I am not sure what the problem was, and still is, but i resorted to burning the info onto DVD. I tried enabling everything, but alas, after about 500mb, it froze.
