    Video Card fan?

    I have a ATI Radeon Viper 9600XT AGP (256mb)

And I keep getting a ATI warning that the card is too hot, Ive had this card for about 2 years now and I noticed that the fan on it is running really slow.

I found fans here: http://www.directron.com/gpucoolers.html but I dont know if any of them will work with my card. Can anyone show me a good cheapish replacement fan that will work on my card?

    THANKS!

I recommend arctic cooling too. I have one on my x800xt-pe and it works great. just make sure to check if there are any fit problems (depending on your card) on arctic's site

it's not worth buying a fan for that you could get a much better graphics card than you have for verry cheap thats what i would do

            Barely run BF2?

Um.. I believe it runs BF2 great. Graphics are all on High and I load in a game in about 50sec-1min.

It runs COD, COD UO, COD2, CoH, DoD, BF2, BF2 SF, BF2142, AA and CnC3 all perfect.

I think Ill get the artic cool fan that I found for $14.99 instead of spending another few hundred dollars on a card.

              Don't kid yourself matey.

For the price of an after-market cooler and then some, you could buy a decent GFX card.

Try $40. If you sold your current card, you might be able to snag a 7600GT.

                    But I LIKE MY CARD.
I dont want to get rid of it.
It cost me $300 and it is perfectly fine. Plays all the games I have 100% perfect. Except Company of heroes lags if I keep everything High so I put shading to med. and it doesnt lag.

                    I ordered the Artic Cooling fan for $14.99 + shipping = $23.

Thanks for suggesting that to me guys!

A 7600GT ($95) will run twice as good as your old 9600.

Haha, as much as you're attached to it, you have to realise what you paid £500 for 2 years back will run you about £30 today. The computer industry has exponential growth, and that's a good thing :p

Still, I stand by the fact it would be better to get a new card. I guess you don't really care that you'd be running 30fps tops, which is smooth, but for a fast-paced FPS game, surely you must feel graphical lag?

What fast pased pc game are you talking about?

                          I dont lag in anything.

when the smeg was it $300? i bought one when it was new and it cost me £114!

for the price you'd be MUCH better with a 6600GT etc - you just wait until you play BF2 with some AA

is that what you all are fussing about?

Its not $90.. its pushing $200 and I could go to Tiger Direct and get a 512mb for close to that price.
