I'd love to sell my 21" trinitron CRT for $60. He's been riding around in my backseat ever since my wife evicted him after getting the LCD.

To expensive to ship...maybe I'll put it in the paper...

Heh, I wish it was TFT. It's f00king massive and taking up loads of room. It's a Sun badged Sony one, so it's a nice screen.

Oh yeah, new rig is over there <----------- currently installing XP

Oh yeah, that P5B Deluxe mobo is something else. The accessories and sh1t you get with it, awesome...

Re: New Hardware needed - advice

Well, I'm starting to get good at BF2 now, now that I can actually see my enemies!

                So:

How do I show FPS in BF2? Something in the ~ console?

Is there also a key combo to take screenshots? I can get some uploaded then.

Also, I started to run a 3dMark test last night, and when it got to the CPU tests it was really slow. Is that because it's using the CPU to render rather than the GFX card?

And Alex and co, thanks for all the advice on what hardware to get. I'm very pleased up to now. I also had a quick blast on FEAR on Sunday, but it made me feel sick?! Either motion sickness, or just hungover?

The cpu tests are extremely slow, I haven't run it on my new proc but with my old x2 (4800+) I think I averaged about 1-2fps for both cpu tests. :p

Yea, the CPU tests are always really slow. I have a 3.4ghz E6600 and i still only get 5 fps or sumthin like that at most.

and the command is "renderer.drawfps1" .... without the speechies.

Dont make the mistake of writing "renderer.lockfps1" like i did in the middle of a firefight! Not very fun...

                      Enjoy!
