What do I need to run graphics on High?

Well, my computer is quite capable of running them on High. I have a Radeon 1300/1550 series Graphics Card and it's fine. However I've been experiancing stuttering even on Low Graphics lately at the beginning of the round. I was wandering if I should buy another Gig of RAM. (1 Gig atm anyway).

I dont want to change my Graphics card soo..Anything else?

The graphics card that you have is a low-end one that is not meant for intense 3D gaming. I would suggest that you upgrade your video card then your RAM.

For £100, an x1950GT should be good. You can OC it, because it's a slightly downclocked x1950 Pro (i.e. same card with an underclocked BIOS) meaning you save £40.

I've got an x1950xt (custom cooled) with a cheap-a$$ pentium D and I game on all high these days. Actually "all-high" x2 if you count the beers.

Oops... pro'ly won't respond for a while now...need to finish my graduation project...

Another gig will get you into an ugly-looking lagging game faster. A better graphics card will get you into the game at the same speed as you're currently used to, and the game will be faster, better dressed, and more fun. You might be limited by your PSU, though. Need to find out how much power you've got (especially the rating on the +12v rail) before you go hog wild. I believe, for instance that the x1950's need at least a 450W PSU w/30A across the +12v rail/rails).

other relevant info...7600gt is in an inferior card to the x1950, but will still do very nicely with less of a power draw. x1650pro (--->NOT!NOT!NOT! an x1600pro<---) are competitive with the 7600gt

If your PSU isn't rated high enough for an x1950, then picking up the cheapest 7600gt or x1650pro (the powercolor with 600/1400mhz core/mem speed looks particulary good) you can get your hands on would be my advice.

...and then get the extra gig as time/money permit.

Re: What do I need to run graphics on High?

I got a Compaq budget computer for $500USD a year ago with following:
                          AMD64 3700 2.2GHZ
                          1GB PC3200 Ram

                          and upgrades:
                          ATI Sapphire X1950pro $200 USD (it's $135 now on Newegg.com)
                          1 more GB PC3200 Ram $70USD.

Total comes to $770USD last year's cost and it can do BF2 at high with no problem on my Dell 21' WS LCD panel.

                          No OC needed.

                          Hope this will help.
