A # of problems since formating

Hey all, It's been awhile I know and because of that I have reformated and have been trying to play again(after a year absence).

The main prob is that when in game I hear bleeping blurps and at the same time my screen freaks(lags) out. I had this before and really just forgot how I fixed it.

The other thing is that really bugs me. My soundblaster live card will not remember my settings, ie, wave and mic. So each time I restart, I have to make sure I hit those(annoying to say the least).

My system is this:

Intel 2.4
1g ram
80g HD
Geforce 6200 256
soundblaster live 24bit
450psu

Any ideas to get me back on track I will graciously bow to you!

ok change the BIOs battery to see if that makes any change

If not remove all the drivers and download latest ones. Clean out dust in your pc as your graphics maybe overheating. Lower ur settings abit, if your not playing on lox you should be the 6200 isnt gonna play anyhigher than low(well i at least think so).

I changed the battery, no help. I updated all my drivers, no help. I allready had been running on low so thats not it. I fixed this along time ago but cant remember how, darnit!

Some maps are better than others and maybe it fixes itself for all I know.

It drives me crazy to hear this digitised bleep all the time, the screen momentarily freezes at the same time too.

Any other ideas?
