Hi i am a noob to PC computer gaming i just bought

AMN2F6 Vista Motherboard
AMD 64 x2 4200+ @ 220 mhz
1gig ram
250g samsung sata hard drive
BFG 8800 OC gts 320mb
400w psu
Windows Xp


and i try and play battlefield 2 and it takes me about 20 min just to get on the god dam game and it lags can anyone please advise me

No im trying it on medium setting me head is wrecked i had a look inside the case and the power supply is only 400w is that even enough to run the bfg 8800OC

That might be enough power, it depends on the amps provided on the 12v rails. Try defragging your HDD, another GB of RAM wouldn't hurt, as well.

Wait, are you running Vista? In that case you really do need another gig of RAM.

If you want to reduce login time go to your bf2 server favs and delete all of them speeds up your login a LOT

Specs are all good. 400W (especially if it is a generic) may be barely cutting it. As asked above, what are the amps on the +12v rail? Also 1gb ram is a tad low, but plenty to get you in game in < 3mins under XP, I'd imagine Vista shouldn't be more than 25% slower from what I've read.

Turn off cool and quiet--CnQ or something like that--in the BIOS. Your motherboard and your processor may be confused about load states, and your mobo may be severly underclocking your processor.

But...watch your temps. I've got no idea how well your case is vented. :)

Edit: also, I read somewhere that Vista tries to "take over" (Micro$oft...go figure) cool n quiet, so there may be an advanced setting in Vista to tweak. You'll have to pm some of the Vista cheerleaders hanging around the forums for details.

That has to be Vista......you have a great computer. A comp like that should easily be able to play all high with great FPS. Is your harddrive filled with crap? like do you have 10 other programs running in the backround? Maybe what someone above me said...defrag it and run some anti virus/ anti-malware/adware
