    vista and mic problem

    Hi

Before i start i DONT want any posts saying how crap vista is. Ok here it goes.

I work for a computer manufactuer and ive come across the same issue with pc's the same spec as mine. The problem is when i go into games the mic turns off, I can hear my mates in TS2 but they cant hear me. Also the Mic in bf2 and CSS dies. Ive looked everywhere tried every driver release and still stumped what the problem is.

All my XP programs are set to run as administrator. Ive only had this problem recently as it was playing all my games very well till now.

Does anyone have any idea on this?

    Re: vista and mic problem

ok...first of all, I think Vista rox. Then to get my mic to work with TS, I had at first to go to press key to talk, and that worked ok but my voice was scratchy, crackly, stuff like that. I got it to work with voice activation by turning the setting down toward whisper. Vent seemed to work fine from the get-go.
Your problem is in possibly two areas. Your sound card, if thats where you plug your mic in, or usb, if thats where you plug it in. Of course make sure all sound card drivers are up to date. Then go through the voice recognition tutorial just to make sure your mic works. There are some settings for the mic in control panel, sounds, recording, set the mic as default, and then you can right click on it to check properties, and adjust settings. Theres a 20db boost in there that may help. When I first installed bf2, i wasn't able to setup the mic, so check that. I dont claim to an expert, but I did get it to work, and I'm just trying to pass-on some stuff I went thru ...have fun.

      Re: vista and mic problem

well i resolved my problem as vista started playing up.

I took a back up of my pc and files. And did a format i think my vista was just currupt as it was crashing when installing and uninstalling.

Ive had no problems with vista apart from that and i really like it. Luckily i have xp pro x64 running on a second hard drive so any issues and i can use it in xp.
