I would definately up your RAM to 2 GIG - If you Ctrl+Alt+Del you will see that Bf2 can use up to 1 gig itself, you will also get much quicker load times with 2 gig.. Overall your machine looks ok..

I would suggest to go with Intel's Core 2 Duo series. They are way better and are at a reasonable price. Even the lowest C2D can beat out some of the higher AMD X2's in gaming performance.

What is your budget for this upgrade?

i dont know like 400 or 500 see my board i have now is messed up lol i am gonna need a new one. And a new graphics card, but i want a good board. see with all that stuff it is gonna cost around 670 but if you guys know of anything better let me know like baord and processor and ram and GPU

Only thing I would change is the powersupply. I would get a minimum of 550W without SLI, 600W with SLI

it looks fine to me, but I still think there is no reason to upgrade that 3800+, you wont notice a huge difference going to the 4600+, when I went from a 3400+ to a 4200+X2 right now, I noticed very little difference in BF2 Performance, if im not mistaken the 4600+ is only 400mhz faster

dont listen to this douche nozzle there is a big difference in your processor choice and you will notice a difference in overall system performance. The new AM2 (socket 940) requires DDR2 memory which drastically enhances system performance. You can benchmark you system now and I guarantee the new system you want to build will out perform your old one by a mile. to some ppl, the difference between 2.0 MHz and 2.4 MHz might not be alot, but it is. You cant overclock a 2.0 MHz and achieve system stability to the extent you can a 2.4 MHz processor, not to mention the X2 can mulittask with ease, even in the backround while youre playing BF2. I dont care about all those kids who get all the expensive Intel stuff and talk about how they get +100 fps when the human eye cant tell the difference in anything over 30 fps. I think that you are on the right track and you will be satisfied with your new system.

You are completely misinformed. There will be little if any difference in his performance going from 2Ghz X2 to a 2.4Ghz X2. There is little if any performance gain in going from DDR 400mhz at Cas 2 to DDR 800mhz at Cas 4. He would be basically making a side step upgrade. He already has a PCIExpress slot so he can get the best video cards available.

I ROFLed at "the human eye can't tell the difference in anything over 30 fps"... After making that statement you go on to recommend the 8800 GTX to people with AGP slots...

You have no clue what you are talking about, and it would benefit everyone if you stopped posting in the tech section.

Honestly all you need is a new PSU, video card, and another GB of ram. If you are doing a full system upgrade I suggest you go with an Intel core 2.
