Should i upgrade my RAM or my video card?

Hey guys, interested in getting ArmA, however, the demo ran a bit choppy on my machine, so i need some input on what i should upgrade. It wasnt too choppy, but it was still unplayable. The playability seemed to stay the same no matter what settings i put the game on. Here is my current rig.

P4 3.0 HT
1gb DDR2
x850xt

Now should i get an extra gigabyte of ram, or upgrade my video card? Which one is ArmA more dependent on? I'd like to play the game at medium settings, on a really high view distance, though im not sure what the max view distance is? Thanks in advance.

In your case the RAM should be first priority.

max view distance is lyk 20000 k i think

Your rig is pretty good man....im suprised it doesn't work well. I mean the x850xt is a great card and 1gb of ram should be enough. The p4 should be fine too. If anything I would go with more RAM man.

Get 2Gb (2x1Gb) Dual Channel memory.

I would get ram mate, it is more important seeing your card is pretty good for now :)

I think its just poor optimization, because i finished dl'ing ArmA last night, and it runs pretty good on my machine. I think im still going to get the extra gig of ram though, so i can crank up the view distance.

Also, is it a big deal to mix ram of different timings?
