    Aim Virus Help

Hey, I just got a virus through instant messenger, did a bunch of virus scans, downloaded fixaim, etc.. Fixaim found a virus and it said it got rid of it, but now i get these random things when i will be doing something and then internet explorer just opens up and goes to a website. I'm not sure whats going on..

    Any ideas?

Those AIm virsus suck man...I got one a few years ago. Im not sure what virsus software you use but if that doesnt work try an anti-malware software...i think thats what it with my AIM virus. A-Squared is a free one, and it should get rid of it.

PS- If you need a free anti-virus....use AVG free. Works great.

umm yea your pc is still infected. more than likely its spyware thats running in the backround. Download a free program like avast or ad-aware and stop using aim. If u want a safe alternative use meebo.com

Edited: I don't care what your personal opinions about trillian are, but calling it "gay" is unnaceptable.

already tried both of those programs, but no luck. I also downloaded programs to see what processes are running etc.., but nothing other than the normal things are.

also, aim has been "safe" for me for about ummm 5-6 years? and this is the first virus i've gotten.

                    Re: Aim Virus Help

i d/l'd norton, and it detected a bunch of trojans, and deleted them.

my computer seems to be running normally now, and im gonna do another scan later to check.

im also going to get macafee and try that out, since my dad can get it for free.

p.s.- i used to use bestialityporndialer.exe..., but it slowed down my comp too much, so i deleted it. any suggestions on different ones that dont slow down your comp?
