    HP Pavilion d4790y

Hey guys, what do you think of the HP Pavilion d4790y? Does anybody have it? The website doesn't tell which mobo it uses and i was really wondering if the computer can be upgraded as of in mobo and memory. Any comments on it? Anything bad?

    Thanks

What components are you considering to upgrade?

I would still suggest to build your own computer since you will get better parts at a lower cost.

If i was to buy the HP Pavilion d4790y, i would choose the intel core 2 duo e6600. When that processor gets old, I was planning on getting a new one a couple years later, like a quad core or extreme. Are hp good computers for gaming?

No pre-built computer is good for gaming, but if you spec it right you can get a decent HP gaming comp. The E6600 would be a great chioce, but i would suggest to get a good enough graphics card to make that cpu worth it.

lol...Alienware? The truth is, I really don't want to build a computer.

Building your own computer is the way to go. It's reallly easy, and you have control of everything on it. If you are considering a new comp....don't go out and buy a pre-built!!

Look up some forums on building one....you wont believe how easy it is

But if you reallly don't want to, that Pavilion d4790y is not bad at all. Its got a great processor, but the graphics cards aren't that great....the best one is the 7600. When you buy one like that, the company (HP or whatever) puts on all this crap on the harddrive...you can't overclock, upgrading is a nightmare, and a whole bunch of other problems. And when something goes wrong....its over. Have fun trying to figure out the problem!

NO! Do not buy from either of them! You get crappy service, bad tech support, and to top it off the computers don't even work that well. If you need to buy from someone, one of the really good places would be pugetsystems.com.

Edit: Isn't this like the 4th time you've asked this question?

Buying a pre-built HP, Dell, Etc PC with the intention of using it for gaming on a high-end level is like .... i dont know, its just dumb.
