Re: Graphics card help (what to buy)

Just get a 8800GTX, I did any I've never been happier about a PC decision in my life. Although in a month or 2 ATI & NVIDIA are releasing their new stuff, the R600 & The 8600GT etc...

Well I will be playing in 1280x1024 so the 8800 GTS (320mb) should suit me fine...I didn't want to pay $600+!, I picked up the overclocked 8800 GTS for $412 in the end, and thats what I would have paid in town for the 7950 GT OC....So I am happy!

        Hi.

I'll will go to the ATI and say ATI Radeon X1950 XT crossfire it's a very god card to and cheaper but it would not match the GeForce 8800 GTS/GTX so if you have the mony buy GeForce 8800 GTX.

        Just my opinion.

you dont have to disagree, the evga 320mb is the cheapest on newegg.

In your sig you OC'd your CPU? I have the SAME 64x2 AMD 4600+, 2 gigs ram (have NO clue what kind they are) How do you go about OC'ing your PC?

Can the 8800 GTS be pushed further than 576MHZ and 1.7GHZ? As mine is factory OC'd....

              thanks

tweak the FSB, multiplier and/or the voltage settings for the CPU in your bios. You cannot do that with factory built PC's. But I have memory for overclocking. stock memory is the one thing that will hold you back, go for a higher rated memory that can handle the higher clock speeds of the processor; and put the whole damned thing on ice!
