    SLi Questions

    Hi all!

I've recently gotten myself a second 7600GT GPU card, and installed it completely and properly. I've also adjusted the SLi settings in the nVIDIA control panel.

How do I see wether my games are using one card or both cards?

Check the control panel, there should be a load indicator that you can see ingame, and it will show you whether or not both cards are being used.

I'll check that ASAP. But in the meantime you might want to know that I haven't got any performance increase at all. In NFS Carbon, for example, I see very clearly that my performance really hasn't increased at all.

Run 3D Mark 06 before and after, that will tell you if it's working properly or not. You will only see about a 30-40% increase mate. If it's a lot less then maybe your PSU is not up to the Job. What have you currently got?

I believe my PSU is between 400 and 500W. And I have tried running 3DMark several times on different OS's and configurations, but I have never got it to work :S. It just freezes after I press the "Run 3DMark now" button.

            1) Is your PSU SLI Compliant?? Most SLI systems use 600W-850W PSUs but you should check to see if the one you are using is on the SLI Compliant List.

            2) What is your mobo?? Does it have an 8bit or 16bit SLI pipeline. If it is 8bit the second card will not do much for you. (Basically because it is jammed up with going through the small pipeline) I have an A8N SLI Deluxe but it is only 8 bit SLI so I went with on good graphics card instead of 2 in SLI since the one card works better than 2 lesser cards with this particular mobo.)

            Hope this provides some insite.

My mobo is SLi able, and everything right now is working fine, since I can see that SLi is used inside BF2. So I guess my problems are solved, but I'm still wondering why NFS Carbon doesn't work with SLi :S

Not all game are SLI compatible. It will still use only one card .
