            Since when are they hard?

They're just long, boring, and have essays written by tree hugging femanazis.

I agree with all of that, especially the essay part. The essays are the dumbest thing you could possibly have on a standardized test. Being able to write a 5 paragraph essay or so in a short amount of time doesn't determine whether you're intelligent, a critical thinker, or even a good writer, especially considering the stupid subjects that they're all on. It's a joke.

The essays are actually used to test for the presence of robotic androids taking the test for humans. :S

So, if you do not have a doctor degree in quantum physics, does that mean that you dont have a clue about even the basics of physics? :P

Its amazing how many people actually dont know how to write essays. Talking about things like simple structure of an essay, grammar and literary skills. Essays do show a persons intellectual level, without wasting someones time on reading a 30 page research project. The evaluation process just has to take everything into account.

I know I didnt have any problems with mine. Doesnt change the fact that Ive had a few nights when I get to go to sleep at 3AM because Im helping people out with theirs.

Typically the essays I have to write, that aren't related to a specific project or report, are simply a means to demonstrate my ability to conduct an argument etc etc in a structured way.

As in introduce a point, talk about it, argue about it etc etc, link to next paragraph

although thats a very simplistic way of looking at it

I finally got my bass last week, but the A string rattled like crazy when played open. I took it to some random guy at a music store who said that it was just that the neck was bowed and they'd charge $60 to fix it. I notified the ebay seller who is sending me the money today. That brings the price from $250 down to $190.

Later I talked to a guitar expert friend of mine who suggested that I could do the repairs myself and that the guy I talked to probably didn't really know what he was talking about. Having done that, I found out it's the nut that probably needs to be replaced. I feel a little immoral, but I just saved myself $60. (Plus the bass was more scratched up than they said and smells horribly of cigarette smoke).
