    Help a brother out

Ok so I got Battlefield 2 today and after I finished installing it, I decided to play it. I clocked the icon and a pop-up came up and said Battlefield 2. After that, the screen turned black for half a second. I tried again and it did it again. I restarted my computer and it did it again.

I have all the system requirments but in my graphics card, I dont have a good pixel shader and lighting. Some people say I need a new graphics card, which is weird becuase Doom 3 works fine. So is there a website where I have to update my game or graphics card? Oh yeah and when Battlefield 2 is starting up, the taskbar says Battlefield 2 with a little icon beside it. But the icon is actually the Medal of Honor: Allied Assault logo instead of the BF2 one. So, does that effect anything? Btw, both games are made by EA.

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: Crap, I posted in the wrong board, Please move this to BF2 tech help.

      Re: Help a brother out

I had this problem with an ATI Card, and it had to do with the refresh rate of the card. Check your graphics card setting for the current refresh rate!!
It might be set too high. I think I got it to work with a refresh rate of 60MHz

Also have you recently updated your graphics card drivers?? Newest drivers sometimes can correct these errors.

      Please post your rigs specs!

Sorry I can't post my rig stats (I'm at school right now and I will check when I get back.) It's a Sony VAIO VGN-FJ300 Notebook.

How do you update your latest drivers and check your refresh speed? Sorry for being such a n00b. I'm only 13, >.>

Sorry for the double post but I dont know how to check my graphics card. All I found was this...,

        Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.86GHz
        1.86GHz, 0.99 GB of RAM.

If that's my graphics card, can someone send me a link where I can do a download that updates my card? Should I download the latest BF2 patch? Should I re-install BF2?

          Re: Help a brother out

ive had a quick look for the VGN-FJ300 on the sony website, cant find that exact model but have found the VGN-FJ370/BC with the same processor speed and ram in it, now looking at that its easy to say that pretty much no mater what you do you wont be able to play BF2, the graphics is intergrated intel 900 with 128MB ram, not good enough. sorry to inform you of this but you will need a better computer

Try messing around with your video settings and change the refresh rate, resolution, image and antialiasing settings and see what works. I know it is frustrating, but the game is really picky.
