Whats the best headset to go with for BF2, a usb or oldschool (audio/mic connector) one? When playing BF2 with a headset, can you set it up so that the headset sounds are only teammates voices, and not gameplay sounds? I set a crappy one up before and everthing played through the headset earphones. any help would be great! Thanks!!

hummm so what you want is your squad talk through the headset and all over sounds (gunfire, engines etc) through your computer speaker??

Re: Buying a Headset
Yeah thats exactly how I want it to be...i can't see anyother way of playing. Thats how it works for PS2/3 and Xbox live. It works out so well and it much more realistic than having everything (all sounds) through the headphones. Is it possible to set it up this way? If not, then thats really sad!

Got a few buds who play their games more competitively than me, and they have gone with Medusa headsets. Look them up, they preach those sets to high heaven.

Re: Buying a Headset
the only way i have been able to do that setup is by using skype in the background so the headset is running on skype and the game through the computer speakers ... maybe there is a way of doing it but i dont think so

Re: Buying a Headset
Get a Platronics USB headset. They are Awesome and you do not need a great soundcard to take full advanage of awesome sound. They are comfortable, and have a good mic (once you get all the settngs tweaked)
