Using a USB headset and Mic????

    Hi,
I have searched the forums but cannot find answers for a few things. I am trying to use voice comms on BF2 using a USB headset. When i plug in the set i get it so i can hear my voice in the headphones but then when i launch BF2 as soon as i enter a server i no longer hear my voice in the headphones. I still hear the ingame sounds though?

i have tried the set up but i cannot get my voice to work on the "configure mic" test?

    What am i missing?

Also, is this thebest way of using voice comms or arethere any alternatives?

If so, could someone do an idiots guide for me!

    Thanks,

You're not supposed to be hearing your own voice while playing, that's at least absolutely not the idea...

OK..cool..so i won't hear my own voice through the ear phones but, on the options page in BF2 there is a test mic option...i don't hear my voice through that?
i've heard of "ventrilo" is this any good and how does it work?

        Thanks again.

Don't use Skype for gaming, use XFire instead. Skype eats a sh*tload of RAM!
