We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
So I finally got around to replacing my crappy stock cooling on my 7600 gt and went on newegg and ordered a zalman fan. It installed really easily and it lowered my temps from 58 C idle to 44 idle. I havent checked the temps when playing a game but im sure they are a lot lower.
Here are some pics.
(it also came with little ram heatsinks, as you can see in that picture)
Cool!! I have the Zalmann CPU fan on my AMD FX55 and it is great!!! I will have to look into getting one of these. Will it fit on an 6800?? Always looking for better cooling options!!
Im not sure how my idle was 58, the stock fan and heatsink just really was not good.

Thanks for the post!
Im not sure 100% if it will fit. It says on newegg that its compatible with a "vga card processor". You just have to make sure it clears all of the capacitors and other things on your card and it should fit. I knew it would fit mine because someone wrote it in the reviews and i trusted them lol. And you're welcome :)
Frankly, I wouldn't waste money on a cooler for a mid range card like this.
But since it's had a nice effect, I guess I should think again.
I'd love to build a new rig when the x2900s come out though. Might be my first venture into the "highest of the high end" PCs...
Well, i sort of needed to buy a aftermarket cooler because my card was running pretty hot just at idle, and this was the cheapest one that i found that i knew would fit my card. it works great and was really easy to install and looks cool, and it wasn't a waste of money, to me at least. :)
yea, it might be partly due to my case, the airflow isnt that great and its a little cramped. I'm going to try to save up some money and get a bigger + better case.
Wow, my temperatures are all high but I haven't had a problem. CPU runs at maximum of 58*C, the GPU at 62*C and the northbride and southbridge get hot enough to boil eggs.
I have 3 fans, 1 blowing air directly at the CPU fan, a 120mm fan blowing air in from the front over HDDS (29-38*C) and an extractor fan which... extracts air from near the CPU. I get cold feet just sitting around here.
Used to be something like 38*C for the GPU and 29*C for the CPU cores, don't know what I did to mess it up.
This case hower, is as el-cheapo as you can get. £18 altogether, for 1mm thick stamped steel. Eurgh.

you can use your pc to heat your room lol
my cpu idles @ 13-15*C (not OC'd yet), gpu idles @ 35*C
I finished putting on the thermal grease and it actually lowered the temps about 3-4 degrees, i still need a better case though.
you using a stock cooler aswell? cos mine came with thermal paste already on it so i didnt have to add any to the CPU, if theirs to much it will help in causing the high temps.

yea, mine had a little "film" of thermal paste. I just added a couple drops to it and it seemed to lower the temperatures a little bit.
