    e6300 and 8800gts

would a e6300 at stock clock be bottlenecking a 8800gts?

Most probably. I don't have either so I can't tell, the best way would be to take a benchmark at the stock settings, then OC the E6300 and bench again, then OC the 8800 and bench again, and finally try both together. That should definitely show it. From what I hear though, the answer is yes, I've heard even the Core 2 Extremes can't keep up.

Like Camperstrike says, yes. It will definately bottleneck the GTS. If you want to get more out of the GTS but don't want to pay much more; i'd make sure you have good overclocking RAM/MOBO and then try to reach 3Ghz. Then the bottleneck shouldn't be as noticable. Although, this is what I have heard and seen in reviews and stuff.

Almost all e6300 reach 3ghz clock easily and with cheap ram. You can run it at 3ghz even with stock cooler.
