Notebook help

ive got a reasonably new philips x50 (twinhead 12d) notebook and ive just upgraded the memory to 1gb, but it still wont play bf2, it has a Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML graphics accelorator in with up to 190mb of shared video memory. any suggestions of how to get bf2 to work or how to allocate memory to the video accelorator (as most of the time it sez like 9mb in use) would be extremely helpful. thanks

1.73ghz pentium m processor:)
1gb DDR333 PC2700 Ram:)

50gb hard drive

dont think that onboard graphics is enough to run the game

That is correct. Even when you have a gaming Mobo, they MIGHT give you the VERY MINIMUM spec onboard gpu- in my case, they did that for a different pc, and it STLL didnt work. Sorry, but unfortunately you will not be able to play many popular online games with that computer, other than maybe a few MMORPG's. I have little experience with laptops, so correct the following if I am wrong- I am almost positive that you will not be able to upgrade the graphics on that laptop. and if you can, youll still be playing on minimum specs, and still have many problems with the game.

well when ASUS releases its XG station (external graphics w/ 7900gs) he could play games but those are gonna be expensive (i read some were around 500$ correct me if im wrong) it can also be used for any single slot pci-e desktop card :) good idea aint it

id still NEVER play games on a laptop- even a gaming laptop wont be that good if you wanna play bf2 maxed out including AA etc....

i started playing bf2 on a laptop and it was really fun (when it first came out) i like being able to play games on the go for me it doesn't matter if its maxed out with full AA on a laptop because thats what desktops are for :)

id still NEVER play games on a laptop- even a gaming laptop wont be that good if you wanna play bf2 maxed out including AA etc....

There are laptops out there that feature integrated GPUs like the 7800GTX, 7900 series, X19xx series, etc. There are even laptops out there with SLi integrated GPUs.
